Essie Mae Martin of Dorchester died on January 14, 2022. She was 79 years old.

Wife of the late Roosevelt Martin. Beloved mother of Annette Jackson, Curtis Jackson, Loretta Martin, Darlene Martin, Patricia Martin and Priscilla Martin. Sister of Joyce Jackson, Dorothy Jackson, Ruby Dudley, Robert E. Jackson and the late Mary Hall, Edward Jackson, James Jackson, Jr. and Larry Jackson. Essie is also lovingly survived by 12 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Essie enjoyed watching cooking shows, home shopping network, listening to gospel and playing games on her I pad. She was a collector of antique dolls and had a huge collection of angels. Most of all Essie loved to cook for family gatherings and holidays. Essie’s family was the cornerstone of her life. She will be missed by all who had the pleasure to have known and loved her.

Visiting hours will be on Friday January 28th 10- 11 AM in the Dolan Funeral Home, 1140 Washington Street, Dorchester Lower Mills. A funeral service will follow at 11 AM in the Funeral Home. Interment in Mount Hope Cemetery, Boston.
