Obituary for Enomine Gaston
Enomine Gaston, of Roslindale, Mimine passed away on June 13, 2025, at the age of 92.
Enomine Gaston, lovingly known as Mimine, was born in Haiti on January 27, 1933. A proud and dedicated nurse, her remarkable journey in healthcare began in Quebec, where she graduated from Hôpital Saint-Joseph in Rimouski.
She later moved to Brooklyn, New York, where she worked in the ICU at Kings County Hospital for three years. Her path then led her to Boston Children’s Hospital, where she cared for newborns in the ICU for eleven years. She continued her career at University Hospital, serving in the Brain Surgery Department for four years, and later at Benjamin Nursing Home for twelve years, where she became actively involved in the union, advocating for workers' rights and benefits. She eventually transitioned to work in Addiction Services at the Dimock Center.
She was the beloved mother of Judith (Jou-Jou) Mikel and mother-in-law to Damon Mikel. She was the devoted wife of the late Occide Gaston and the cherished daughter of Alphonse and Marie Innocent, who both preceded her in death.
She was a dear sister to Brunel, Frantz, and Carlo Innocent, and to Raymonde Stephens, Antonio Innocent, Numa Innocent, and Alourdes Neff, all of whom also preceded her in death.
Affectionately called "MiMi," she was deeply loved by her grandchildren, Ava and Zoe. She is also survived by many devoted nieces and nephews, who fondly called her "Tatante," as well as a large extended family and a close-knit circle of friends.
