  Elena "Ma" was a surrogate mother to me and always had a kind word or a hug whenever I needed it. She embodied a sweetness and grace that was only surpassed by her kindness and warmth. Which still lives on in her daughter. Even though I am heartbroken for Kim and everyone else I pray that she has found lasting peace. Matthew 5:4 from the Beatitudes, says, "Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted."

  Dear Kimberly and Michael, My heart goes out to you and your family during this incredibly difficult time. Elena was truly one of a kind—a woman whose strength and spirit were nothing short of inspiring. As a matriarch, she led with fierce love and unwavering dedication, always putting her family first and showing what true resilience looks like. Elena's journey as a chronic illness warrior exemplified her courage and determination. She faced each day with a spark that never faded, no matter the challenges she encountered. Her presence was commanding yet warm, and her humor could light up the darkest of moments. It was impossible not to be moved by her spitfire energy and the genuine care she shared with those around her. Some of my fondest memories are of Elena with her grandchildren, Amira and Hakim, her face alight with pure joy. The happiness she found in her family was truly beautiful to witness, and it is a legacy that will continue to live on in each of you. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.   In Loving Memory of Ma Elena Fournier Ma was a spirit full of joy radiant, wise, and endlessly encouraging. She always told me to follow my dreams, offered words of wisdom, and reminded me how beautiful and unique I am. She believed in me and took pride in the person I was becoming. One moment I will never forget was when she gently pulled me aside and said, "Everyone may be against you because of this decision you've made, but you're making the right one. You are strong, and you can do whatever you set your mind to." She told me that no one truly understands the pain and suffering I go through only those who have lived it can relate. Ma had endured so much pain in her own life, yet she never complained, not once. She simply understood me in a way few others could. She told me, "Stop listening to others especially if they're not the kind of people you look up to. Always do what feels right in your soul." Then, as always, she ended with her signature wink... and a slice of pizza. From that day until now, and from now until forever, every conversation we had will live in my heart ending with that same loving wink and a slice of pizza. She will be missed deeply, but her legacy and love will live on. I will make sure her grandchildren always know who she was and the sacrifices she made for them. Miss you deeply, Ma. Rest in peace.
