Obituary for Elaine M Coleman
In Loving Memory of Elaine (Lainy) Marie (Cazavilan) Coleman, age 83, of Milton, Massachusetts, who
passed away peacefully on October 25, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on February 10, 1942, in Springfield, Massachusetts, she is the daughter of the late Delio and Eda (Siciliano) Cazavilan and built a life rooted in Catholicism and an unwavering commitment to
her family and friends.
Elaine leaves behind her devoted, everloving husband Martin F. Coleman from Dorchester, MA. They
were married for 60 years, and together they enjoyed participating in all of their children’s milestones while building a loving home and family in Milton, MA.
Elaine leaves a legacy of love and strength through her children, Lisa Coleman Durkin and husband
Christopher of Maine and Daniel M. Coleman of Arizona; her brothers, Steven Cazlan of Connecticut
and Robert Cazavilan of Iowa; and her cherished grandchildren, Aedan M. Durkin and Caroline A.
Durkin, and many nieces and nephews who will forever carry on her beloved Italian family traditions.
Elaine lived a life dedicated to carrying herself with immense grace, pride, and courage. She was
the true matriarch of the family, and her kitchen was a place of endless warmth, where she spent countless hours preparing meals to ensure that no one ever left her home hungry. Beyond her exceptional cooking, she was known for her outgoing personality, her love for animals, and her dedication to making every holiday/family occasion a lasting memory.
Elaine worked as a medical assistant/phlebotomist for 30-plus years while staying active playing tennis, walking, and reading. Her favorite pastime was spending summers on the beaches of Cape Cod
surrounded by family and friends.
At the end of Elaine's battle with Alzheimer's disease, she was blessed to be in the care of the Standish Village Memory Care Unit in Boston, MA. Standish Village assisted Elaine with an array of dignified daily life skills and the professional care and expertise she needed to be successful pursuing her end-of-life goals.
