Obituary for Eileen Browning

Eileen Donovan Browning was born on July 17th 1946 to the late Edward (Ted) and Helen (Sullivan) Donovan. Eileen passed away surrounded by her loving family on March 11th 2023 after a brief illness. She was predeceased by her siblings Joanna (Donovan) Sigel, Edward Donovan, and John Donovan. Eileen was a proud Dorchester resident and maintained a beautiful home where she enjoyed gardening and walking her dog around the neighborhood. She was raised in St. Peter’s Parish where she formed life-long friendships. Eileen attended Boston State College and received a bachelor’s degree in education. In her early career she taught elementary school, then later worked at Boston Water and Sewer Commission for nearly thirty years.

Eileen is survived by her children David Browning, Ann (Browning) Gorman, and her husband Gerard, Elizabeth Browning, and Patrick Browning and his wife Carla. She leaves behind her beloved grandchildren Monica Browning, Ronan Gorman, Dylan Gleeson, William Gorman, Colin Gorman, Molly Ann Browning, Sofia Browning, and Elena Browning; as well as several nieces and nephews. Eileen was a fun-loving, loyal friend who will be sorely missed by all who loved her.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday March 15th at Dolan Funeral Home, 1140 Washington Street, DORCHESTER LOWER MILLS from 4-8PM. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Thursday March 16th at Saint Gregory’s Church 2215 Dorchester Avenue at 10AM. Interment at Saint Joseph Cemetery.

    She was a sweet soul so Carring. Her laugh smile conversations. Good times growing up with her kids. Pool days down at my parents house . Also going out with her and my mom. She was a one of a kind loved to help others lift them up. She. Was a life long friendships to friends including my mom they had had named their life long friendship as honey bees. Rip. Eileen.
