Just today (07/01/24) stumbled upon's Ed's obituary quite by accident. I had sent him a text message to his cell phone in on May 17th and got no response. Didn't think anything of the delay...until today, and did a google search and...ugh...saddest news for-sure. Ed and I opened the Brooks Brothers store in Chestnut in in Nov. 1980 and became friends from day ONE. We did lose track of each other for quite some time. But a Facebook search a few years ago resulted in a reunion for us at the golf course where he was a pro on Cape Cod. Ed was 22 years old and I was 25 years old when we worked together in 1980. All those years he was in-touch with his passion of golf. I'll always remember his unique laugh and quick wit. I'll never forget some of the crazy pranks we teamed-up on back in those youthful days. Rest in peace, my longtime friend. You'll be remembered...as long as my memory holds up over time. - Bill McGowan, Brighton, MA

I would like to share a beautiful moment that happened between my daughter and Ed. This moment really speaks of how special Ed was. My daughter was around 4 at the time. She was very jealous of Ed. Ed tried his best to befriend her, but she being a very willful child, she was a tough nut to crack. One night I needed someone to watch her and without a second though he offered. So, just the two of them went out to dinner together. But here is Ed's genius comes in, he lied and told everyone at the restaurant it was her birthday. They came out with a sombrero and everyone sang her happy birthday. Well, let me tell you when I got home that night, she met me at the door to tell me all about it. From that day forward the two of them were best friends. So, I have to thank Ed, for so many of these special moments. He will be greatly missed!

Uncle Ed was the greatest and handsome one, he would take the kids to The Vineyard for a hilarious ferry trip just laughing all the way.
