Eara Lee (James) Fripp was born in Birmingham Alabama on October 9, 1936 to Jimmy and Susie Mae (Robinson) James. Eara was third out of nine siblings.

Eara passed away on September 22, 2023 in Boston Massachusetts at the age of 86.

Looking for an adventure, opportunities, and to make a better life for her and her children, Eara moved to Boston, Massachusetts with her sisters. She attended high school in Alabama.

While in Boston, she acquired many certificates in clerical studies.

Eara had an impeccable work ethic. She worked for Polaroid for over 25 years. She retired from Polaroid doing exactly what she loved working and encouraging members of her team. Eara also enjoyed traveling, casinos, and spending time with family and friends.

Eara loved and enjoyed her family. To whom she showed love, patience, and generosity. She always made sure her family had everything that she could give. Anyone who knew her or her children were always welcome in her home.

Family and friends that came to her house called her mom or baby sister. She enjoyed hosting family cookouts and holiday gatherings. She prepared traditional and delicious soul food meals and cooking advice to her family until the very end.

Eara is survived by her sisters Susie James, Dorothy Chisom and brothers, Franklin James, Sonny James, and Ronald James She is predeceased by her husband James Fripp, sisters Barbara Jean Robinson and Bettyann Jennings, and brother, William James.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: Melvin James, Lisa (James) Garlington, Patricia James, and a host of grand-children and great- grandchildren.
