Dorothy F. Nelson, died peacefully Wednesday September 4, 2024. She was 81 years old.

Born and raised in Westwood, she moved to Norwood in 1976, residing on Chapel Street. Dorothy was a retired machine operator for Northrop Grumman. After retirement she worked part time in housekeeping at Charlwell House, Norwood. She was an avid lover of animals and was known for having many different kinds, such as guinea pigs, rabbits, finches and parakeets.

For the last several years she had been residing at Charlwell House after being diagnosed with dementia. Dorothy recently suffered a stroke and was unable to recover.

Daughter of the late Guy and Frances (MacKinnon) Nelson. Survived by her brother Stephen Nelson of Norwood and cousin Regina Flannery of Holbrook.

Funeral services are private.
