Obituary for Diane Marie Collette

Diane Marie Collette, 71, of Arlington and formerly of Milton, passed away February 25, 2024.

Diane was born in Boston on July 20, 1952. She was the eldest of the six children born to Rosalie and Bernard “Sonny” Collette. They lived in Dorchester on Holmes Avenue and Dakota Street. She is a graduate of Dorchester High School. Diane began working at an early age and found herself a job in the duplicates title division of the Registry of Motor Vehicles for 35 years.

In 1984 the family relocated to 16 Badger Circle in Milton where she resided until the death of her parents. She spent the rest of her life living with her niece Corinne and her family in Arlington.

On her days off Diane loved to take her niece Corinne who resided with her at the home in Milton, to many Ice Capades, Disney on Ice, Museum of Science, Aquarium, Boston Ballet’s the Nutcracker along with wrestling matches at the Boston Garden.

Diane, her mother Rosalie, her sisters, and nieces loved to attend concerts and any kind of haunted places to explore. She traveled with her siblings to the Bahamas, Florida, and Bermuda. She took a trip to England and another to Italy with her brother Bernie and her mother Rosalie. You could find Diane watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade, ice skating and the Olympics.

Where there was once noise now is silence. Where once there was light there is dark. Diane’s sudden death will be with us all for she was taken too young. God lifts up his angels when it’s their time. Her soul is with our Lord and is with her family and friends in heaven.

Beloved daughter of the late Bernard T. and Rosalie A. (Tortora) Collette. Diane is survived by her siblings Nancy Grinnell of NH, Cindy Collette of Hanover, Tracy Ferullo of Quincy, and Bernard Collette of FL. She was predeceased by her brother Alfred Collette.
