Obituary for Darcy Darlington Worrell

The family mourns the loss of Darcy Darlington Worrell, who passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, November 16th, 2023.

Born on June 24th, 1948 in Christ Church Barbados, Darcy was the first of seven children. Born to his late parents; Una Worrell and Selwyn Worrell. Darcy was a man of unwavering kindness, a generous spirit and the ability to connect with people making friends where ever he went. His smile was infectious and his laugher a source of joy for those fortunate enough to be in his presence.

Darcy was a veteran of the US Army where he served as a military police, a expert hand grenade specialist and a parachuter. In his spare time, Darcy enjoyed painting and grooming his hibiscus plant. He retired from Mount Auburn Hospital Radiology Department.
He was a beloved husband of 48 years to Jannie Worrell, a loving father to Christopher Worrell and the late Darcy Worrell Jr. He was the grandfather to Diallo, Deshaun, Darcellis, Christopher, Javon, Tyler, Darihanna, Damarah, Jaqari, and Dakota Worrell and great grandfather to Rose Willis.

He was the brother of June, Patrick, Denise, Heather, Hettie and Dale; brother-in-law to Michael Pierre, Aliston Thomas, Carl Griffin and close friend to Derick Washington. Darcy left behind to cherish his memory, many nephews, nieces, cousins, uncle, aunt and many friends. Darcy was well loved and he will be missed.

Visitation will be held at the Dolan Funeral Home, 1140 Washington Street, DORCHESTER LOWER MILLS on Friday, November 24th from 1-2PM. Funeral service to begin at 2pm. Interment private

    Darcy was well loved by his coworkers at Mount Auburn. He is someone that is always in my heart. Thank you for all you taught me Darcy. Condolences to the family. Wish I could be there today to celebrate his life and shake the hands of his loved ones.

    To the Worrell Family, George Durant and Family share the sad new of the passing of Darcy, and we are so sorry for your loss... Our Families are very close, and this is a very difficult time for all of us, so we will continue to PRAY for Darcy and the Family, and I am sure the Angels are waiting to welcome him home. R.I.P.
