Obituary for Christopher Losier
We are truly distraught and heartbroken to announce the untimely passing of our father, Christopher Losier (76). Christopher, a longtime resident of Hyde Park, Massachusetts passed away during the very early morning hours on Friday, April 26th, 2024 after a long battle with chronic complications following several diabetic strokes over the course of the past decade.
Christopher, affectionately friends and family to many as ToToff, Mokompeh, HotHot, Papi, Boss and so much more, was born on September 27, 1947, in Fond Verettes, Haiti. He was a loving father and husband, who enjoyed all sports and loved to play soccer. After earning a training internship from his employer in Haiti in 1979, he traveled to the United Stated and ultimately decided to build a promising and prosperous life in the land of opportunity for his young family.
Christopher is survived by his wife for over 45 years, Solange Clerie, and six children Ernst Losier and his wife Sandra Losier, Shubert Cherubin and his wife Margareth Cherubin, Ramses Losier, Fabiola Tucker and her husband Damon Tucker and Kerby Losier and his wife Coya Losier and Bertrand Losier. He is also survived by his sisters Yolande Vertil and her husband Rodrigue Vertil and Anne Losier. Christopher’s memory will also lovingly live within his 9 grandchildren, Sherley and Isabel Losier; Taika, Stefania, Melchior and Jeffrey Cherubin; Valerie Losier and Danica and Damon Jr. Tucker.
Additionally, Christopher has a multitude of nieces and nephews, including Wislande Vertil who was always by his side during his stayed at Hebrew as well as cousins who will continue to memorialize him. His life was predeceased by his parents Saintil and Isabel Sultan Losier also his deceased daughter Bernadette Losier
Paramount to his love of sports, Christopher was an avid fan of basketball, football and soccer with the Boston Celtics, Miami Dolphins and Brazil having been his all-time favorite team. He was passionate about recycling, playing bingo and “Bezique” (Haitian pass time), travelling internationally with his wife, Solange and devout to his Catholic faith. Over the years, he has been not only a wonderful family man but also a loyal friend to many.
Visitation will be held at the Dolan Funeral Home, 1140 Washington Street, DORCHESTER LOWER MILLS on Saturday, May 11th from 9:30-10:30AM. Mass of Christian Burial to begin 11AM at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish, 1548 Blue Hill Avenue, MATTAPAN. Interment at Saint Michael Cemetery. Relatives and friends invited.
