Obituary for Carrie Letham Elliott

Carrie Letham Elliott, age 50, died peacefully at home on August 29, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones, after a lengthy battle with breast cancer.

She was the daughter of Meredith Letham and the late Robert E. Letham of Weymouth and Marco Island, Florida. She leaves her husband, Joseph M. Elliott, and son, Nicholas Elliott, a sister and brother-in-law, Sarah and Robert Iandoli of Malden and her brother, Robert Letham Jr. of Weymouth.

She will be missed and long-remembered by her loving family and loyal friends including her godparents, Connie Comeau and Paul Neville and life-long friends at Avenue Academy School.

A Graduate of Becker College, Carrie was an accomplished gymnast and a long-time instructor at Head Over Heels Gymnastics. She also served as a clinical assistant at Boston Children’s Hospital where, at 28, she found her calling.

She died after a 22-year struggle with cancer recurrences, often under the watchful eyes of her dedicated physicians, Dr. Steven Come, Dr. Gila Kriegel and later the staff at Dana Farber. After being diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer, she became a strong advocate of research efforts to find a cure for metastatic disease.

Carrie was a gifted inspirational speaker at fundraisers for the Old Colony YMCA and the Joe Andruzzi Foundation.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Divine Mercy Parish, Saint Mary’s Church, 115 Crescent Street, West Quincy, Saturday September 20 at 11:00 am. Visitation with the family at the church beginning at 10:00 am.

Donations in Carrie’s memory may be made to the Joe Andruzzi Foundation, 49 Plain Street Suite 500, North Attleboro, MA 02760 or online at www.joeandruzzifoundation.org

I was sorry to hear about Carrie's passing. She was so strong and fought for so long. It sounds like Jayne and her were like Frick and Frack from the time they were very young. My thoughts are will you all and know that she might not be here is person, but she will always be with you in spirit.
