Belmiro Bala Sena, affectionately known as Meco, was born on August 19, 1961 in Brava, Cape Verde. He was the son of Maria Bala Sena and the late Julio D. Sena. Our beloved Meco departed on December 8,2022 at age 61.

Meco was what you would call a jack of all trades. There wasn't anything he couldn't master: Carpenter, Singer, and Businessman were just a few of the hats he wore.

He enjoyed being around his family, eating good food and laughing. You would often catch him sitting on the front stoop or walking the neighborhood on a beautiful day, singing.

His favorite hat was being a father to his daughter, Mika. Mika had him wrapped around her finger but he wouldn't have it any other way. As a young girl she often tag teamed with her dad on his various projects whether it was gardening, putting down concrete or fixing brakes. She was there ready to assist. A bond that could never be broken.

Meco had a heart of pure gold and would give to anyone in need and loved to help his loved ones. He will be remembered for his Golden heart and giving nature.

Meco was predeceased by his father Julio D. Sena. He is survived by his mother Maria Bala Sena, his daughter Mika Johnson, his siblings Gisela Sena Campisi, Viriato Bala Sena, Sebastian Bala Sena, Maria Sena-DaSilva, Leocadia Sena-Monteiro, Benvinda Bala Sena, Julio Bala Sena, Kevin Bala Sena, Estella Bala Sena, and M. Madalena Bala Sena, granddaughters Ryleigh, Reyna, and Emileigh Proctor, long time partner Denise Johnson, stepson Anthony Johnson and a large, loving family of nieces, nephews and Friends.

Meco will always be remembered by his family as everyone’s favorite. He had a special connection with everyone. He will always be in our hearts and forever in our thoughts. We love you!

Visiting hours will be held at Dolan Funeral Home, 1140 Washington St., DORCHESTER LOWER MILLS on Wednesday, December 14th from 4-8PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Gregory Church, 2215 Dorchester Ave., Dorchester on Thursday, December 15th at 10AM.
