Barbara A. Smith, of Boston passed away on June 20, 2026. She was 77 years old.

Beloved wife of the late Robert N. Smith. Loving mother of Denise C. Dietrich, Robert N. Smith Jr., Rosalind C. Smith, Jessica V. Smith all of Boston and the late Shanna A. and Victoria J. Smith. Sister of Louise Jenkins, Deborah Jenkins both of Atlanta, GA., and the late Wilburt White, Jessie Jenkins, Ellison Jenkins, Lillian Jacobs and Orville Gregory Jenkins. Cherished grandmother to Nicholas, Tyler, Destinee, Barbara, Evan, Jabriya, Janiyah, Breeanna and Elijah. Great-grandmother of 2 great-grandchildren. Barbara is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends

Barbara was born in Charleston, South Carolina and moved to Boston, MA at the age of 14 years old. She worked for many years in the hospital manufacturing business before retiring. Barbara was a woman of great faith; she was active in her missionary work and giving to charities like Feed The Children and within her community. She always stepped-up feeding those in need and cooking for family gatherings and picnics. She enjoyed sewing, knitting and spending time with her family. She will be missed by all who had the pleasure of having known and loved her.

Family and friends invited to attend visitation on Thursday July 2nd 10-11 AM in Dolan Funeral Home, 1140 Washington Street, Dorchester Lower Mills.

Funeral service will follow in the funeral home at 11 AM.

Interment in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Boston.
