Obituary for Audrey Carolyn Chaney

CHANEY โ€“ Audrey C., age 84 of Boston, MA formerly of Pittsylvania Co., VA, Sunrise: November 15, 1940 โ€“ Sunset: February 10, 2025.

Born and raised in Pittsylvania Co., VA to the late Wilmer and Janie (Saunders) Chaney. Audrey moved to Boston, MA in 1960. She had a long career in food services as a dietary aide supervisor, working for the Boston University Medical Center, Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital, and Brigham & Womenโ€™s Hospital. Audreyโ€™s many enjoyments included playing bingo, completing table-top jigsaw puzzles, crossword puzzles, television game shows, traveling, dancing, sipping coffee, and, most of all, spending time with her loving grandchildren.

Mother of Jeffrey C. Chaney of Royal Palm Beach, FL, Sheila M. Chaney of Lynn, MA and the late Gregory C. Chaney. Mother-in-law of Denise Chaney of Weymouth, MA. Sister of Ruth M. Chaney of Pittsylvania Co. Virginia, Wilmer Chaney, Jr., Lillian Yvonne Chaney both of Richmond, Virginia, the late Waverly C. Chaney, Robert Chaney, and Joanne Young. Grandmother of Shalaya Gray, Shayla Smith, Shawnna Thomas, Isaiah Walker, Isaac Walker, and the late Shaquil Chaney. Future grandmother-in-law of Amanda Lobo. Great-grandmother of Zacharius Anthony Gray-Bullock, Anura Merlyn Smith, and Malani Ashanti Smith. Also survived by many extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 19th at the Dolan Funeral Home, 1140 Washington St., LOWER MILLS-DORCHESTER at 11:00 am. Interment in Oak Lawn Cemetery, ROSLINDALE. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 19th at Dolan Funeral Home 1140 Washington St., LOWER MILLS-DORCHESTER from 10:00 โ€“ 11:00 am prior to the service.

    My deepest condolences go out to you family! Audrey was my good friend from when we first met at the Reggie Lewis Ctr many years ago! We did many things together with "our gang" from the Reggie - City boat rides, picnics in the park, dances, luncheons and so much more. I hadn't talked to her in awhile, but she was on my heart and I called her the week before she passed away!     Audrey was a dear friend of mine we did so much things together and i will surely missed talking to her. The day God called her home she never say goodbye you were gone before i knew it and only God knows why but if you can save me a corner. We all love you but God loves you more so rest in peace girl.
