April Michelle Raines has passed on from our lives on October 9, 2021 in Hyde Park, MA. April was born on July 30, 1978 in Boston, MA to loving parents Bobbie (deceased) and Naomi Raines. She attended William H. Ohrenberger Elementary School, Lewenberg Middle School, Saint Claire High School and Mount Ida College where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Development. In 1999 she became a Member of Charles Street AME Church in Roxbury, MA.
Throughout her childhood, April excelled in cheerleading, step team competition, swimming, karate, track and field, modeling (Barbizon) and her most honorable awarded achievements with Boston’s National Bowling League Team. She enjoyed dancing, singing, acting, and performing with her younger brother (Bryant) at family functions. Thanksgiving and Christmas was her favorite holidays spent with family and friends. Her voluntary participation in local community and youth sporting community exemplified her competitive and contagious spirit joining the Pop Warner football family and The Show Stopper family as a parent and beloved addition amongst her peers.
April worked for several companies. OCE Businesses Services, Pep Boys Auto Store, Berklee College of Music, Boston Bowling Alley, United States Postal Services, and currently the MBTA as a Transit Driver and Union representative supervisor. She served as a caretaker for her mother. Unfortunately, on October 9, 2021 in Hyde Park, MA April passed away unexpectedly and currently missed by so many she touched with her love, her spirit, and most importantly her smile. “Keep Smiling.” We Love You.
April leaves to mourn and cherish her memory: Mother Naomi Raines, three children (Keira, Keyona, Peyton), Brothers; Joseph L. Raines, Dana Raines, Bryant K. Raines. Sister Millie Payoutte and her Goddaughter Skyla R. Henry. Uncle Louis Saunders (deceased) Aunt Becky David (TX) and Aunt Georgia Littlejohn (N.C.) Nephew Jalyn C. Raines (LA). Nieces; Amani N. Dottin-Raines, Jordan A. Bryant, Madison P. Raines. She also leaves a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who adored her.
Funeral Service Thursday, October 21, 2021 at Jubilee Church, 1500 Blue Hill Avenue, Mattapan, at 11 am. Visiting Hours at the church 9-11 am. Interment Oak Lawn Cemetery.
