Obituary for Anthony Francis Courage

Anthony F. “Skip” Courage, of Hanover, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2025.

Skip is survived by his devoted wife and best friend Marguerite (Lydon) Courage, and cherished memories of his first wife, the late Joan (Walsh) Courage. Father of Jennifer Wilson and her loving partner Robert Fitzpatrick, Anthony Courage Jr., Pamela Grieve, and the late Susan Courage. Grandfather of Ryan Wilson, Owen McCaffery, Megan Courage, Sean Courage, and Tori Grieve. Brother of Thomas Courage and the late George Courage and Martin Courage.

He was a Marine and a member of the Quincy Police Department. He enjoyed patrolling on his motorcycle as a part of the special operations unit. He treasured spending time with his family and was extremely proud of the young men that his grandsons Ryan and Owen have become. He was a continuous source of quiet strength, love, and good cheer. He will be greatly missed.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of the Angels Parish, Saint Mary of the Sacred Heart Church, 392 Hanover Street, Hanover, Friday March 14 at 11:00 am. Visitation at the church from 10:00 -11:00 am. Relatives and friends invited.

    Tony was our favorite Weeble. He took the kidding with his always good nature. He was a fine police officer. Always remained calm. Treated everyone with respect.     Marguerite, Jen and all Skip's family, I am very sorry for your loss Skip will be leaving a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.
