Obituary for Anthony Cantave, Jr.
Anthony Cantave, Jr. affectionately known as "Ti-Tony," passed away on May 21, 2024, at the age of 71 due to complications from long standing health issues. A beloved resident of 93 Cheever Street, Milton, Massachusetts, Anthony was born on April 11, 1953, in Port-au-Prince, Haiti.
Anthony was married to the love of his life, Giselle Cantave, for 46 wonderful years before she passed. His unwavering dedication and loyalty to his wife were evident throughout their marriage. Together, they built a loving family and a warm home.
Anthony was a hardworking man, retiring from Park Plaza Hotel after an impressive 45 years of dedicated service. Known for his incredible work ethic, he was admired and respected by his colleagues. Beyond his professional life, Anthony was well-known for his passion for soccer, which began in his youth in Haiti. He was celebrated as an amazing soccer player, a legacy that followed him when he moved to Cheever Street in Milton, where he resided for 35 years until his passing.
Above all, Anthony's greatest joy was his family. He was a devoted father to his children Carline Blaine, Reginald Fernelus, Gaway Cantave, Ned Cantave, and Winnie Cantave. His affinity for his children was surpassed only by his deep love for his grandchildren: Marline Alexis, Regine Fernelus, Carra Blaine, Adriel Cantave, Christopher Fernelus, Ayira Cantave, Chloe Cantave, Nahla Cantave, and Kairo Cantave. Anthony's dedication to his family was the cornerstone of his life, and he cherished every moment spent with them.
Anthony is survived by his siblings Pastor Guy Cantave, who lives in Canada, Dr. Jean Claude Cantave, Fritz “Kopa” Cantave, Michel Cantave, and Claire Cantave. He was a pillar of strength and support for his family, always putting their needs above his own.
Anthony Cantave will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He will be remembered for his hard work, his love for soccer, and, most importantly, the unwavering love and devotion he had for his family. His legacy of dedication, loyalty, and affection will live on in the hearts of his loved ones forever.
A Mass of Christian Burial will celebrated on Saturday, June 8, 2024,in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish (St Angela Church), 1540 Blue Hill Avenue, Mattapan at 10 o clock. Visiting Hour 9 - 10 am in the church. Following the Mass, there will be a repast from 11:00 am - 3:30 pm at Voltage Park in Hyde Park. Interment private.
