Funeral Services
A funeral service gives people the opportunity to express their emotions, share their memories and find comfort through the support of all who are in attendance. We can help you to arrange a personalized funeral ceremony that expresses the individuality of your loved one. We are here to assist you in creating a service that will acknowledge your family’s loss and honor the life of your loved one.
Burial Services
Traditionally, a burial service includes a family or public visitation that is followed by a funeral service, typically at the funeral home or in a church. The casket is then placed in a grave at a cemetery for earth burial or entombed in an above-ground mausoleum.
Cremation Services
Cremation is an alternative to a traditional burial service but it does not limit how you choose to celebrate the life of your loved one.
Cremation Following a Funeral Service is a traditional funeral service except it is followed by cremation in lieu of a procession to the cemetery. Following the visitation, service or ceremony, and eventual cremation, the cremated remains can be buried, properly scattered, or returned to the family for safe keeping.
Cremation Preceding a Funeral Service is like a funeral, only it is a service of remembrance without the body present. Often the urn, pictures and other personal items will be on display to serve as a focal point for the memorial service.
Cremation without Service is the prompt cremation following death, without a formal funeral or memorial service.
Veteran's Services
We specialize in serving the needs of Veteran’s families who are eligible to receive military funeral honors. We can assist you in confirmed eligibility, the application for funeral and burial benefits, burial flags and headstones and markers. We are familiar with the VA National Cemeteries in the Massachusetts area and outside our region, including Arlington National Cemetery. Your loved one deserves to be laid to rest in honor.
Green Burials
A green burial is one in which the body is not embalmed and the burial container consists of biodegradable materials. There is no cement liner or vault and the body biodegrades naturally. Steps are taken to minimize the environmental impact of the burial process. Massachusetts state law does not require the use of a grave liner or vault. It is important to note many cemeteries in Massachusetts do not allow green burial. Our funeral directors can create a plan for green burial that suits your wishes and needs. Green burials can also include church or memorial services to remember your loved one.
