Obituary for William Thomas Condon II

William Thomas Condon II died Saturday November 12, 2022. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Christine Furdon (Yosgandes) Condon, father, William Thomas Condon I, mother, Natalie Hammond Condon and sister, Kathleen (Condon) Johnson.

Bill leaves his son William Condon, daughter-in-law Katherine (Traverse) Condon, and adored grandchildren Will, Robbie and Lilia; his sister Amy (Chris) Linde, brother David (Donna McKeen) Condon, and brother-in-law Peter Johnson; his nieces and nephews Caitlin Linde, Julia (Justin Riddick) Linde, Christopher Linde, Patrick Johnson, R.J. (Kelsey Ketchum) Condon and Craig Condon.

Bill grew up in Easton, Massachusetts and spent summers at the family property on Buzzards Bay in Wareham. He graduated from Oliver Ames High School ‘71 in Easton, attended St. Anselms College and graduated from Stonehill College in 1976. Bill, Chrissy and their son moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida where Bill worked on A Dock running charter fishing boats and made custom fishing rods at Harbor Bait and Tackle. He attended law school at Nova University and graduated from New England School of Law. Bill and Chrissy lived in Marion where their son attended Tabor Academy.

Bill practiced law for over thirty years. He was an unwavering advocate for his clients always with their best interests at heart. He worked on boats at times as captain, crew or cook and briefly ran a bed and breakfast in the Florida Keys. He also worked in restaurant kitchens, most recently at Water Street Kitchen in Woods Hole and the Pilot House in Sandwich.

Bill was complete when with his one love, Chrissy. He loved exploring new places with her and sharing those places with those he loved. Whether fishing with family and friends or finding a path to a secret spot, it was always an adventure. He especially loved reminiscing with his sister Amy, spending time with Pete and Kathy Deibel, fishing with Harry Herrick, talking with Bob Kelley, Tom Largey or Jim Gormley and arguing with Eddie McCormick.

Bill loved sports and always put the good of the team above all else. This was evident for anyone who spent time playing with him. He loved all types of games- some real, some made up games. His favorites were boot hockey and bog ball, variations of baseball and hockey, played with his brother David, his son Bill and anyone else who would play. Bill loved taking his shoes off at the beach, a healthy debate and cooking for anyone.

Bill spent summers camping out with his grandsons in the backyard in Sandwich, cooking on- demand kid requested meals all day and listening to Red Sox radio. He enjoyed playing kick the can, Connect Four, Trouble, Risk and making treasure hunts. He and the boys spent many Papa Days exploring at the beach, shell fishing and hiking through the woods and dunes of Cape Cod. Bill and Kate loved cooking giant feasts together for holidays and kids’ birthday parties. He loved doing puppet shows with Lilia and singing songs together on the way to preschool. He spent lots of time talking with Billy, working on house project with him, debating hockey and baseball sports stats and following Boston sports.

Bill lived a full life. He will be remembered and missed. He left a lifetime of memories that will be cherished and continue to live on through all those that he touched. He remained true to the team all his life. One. It was Bill’s wish to be cremated and his ashes spread in places of significance. There will be no public services. The family would like to thank Dolan Funeral Home for their compassionate care and much appreciated fun stories of Tabor Summer Camp memories.

Billy and Katie...I just came across this obituary for your dad, Bill. I often thought of him, especially after losing the love of his life, your mom, Chrissy. I wondered if he eventually found peace. From the wonderful pictures offered here, I would say his joy, peace, and his life's greatest gift came from sharing his golden years with his bright, imaginative, lively, beautiful grandchildren. It's quiet evident that he reveled in their imagination and their affection. I'm so pleased to know he found happiness in his independent, quirky, free lifestyle in his later years. The memories of time spent with Bill and Chrissy are some of my most prized. We had great fun together, from ski trips to fishing the cages, to calming in Buzzards Bay, and cooking our catches in their Marion home. Both your parents were such loving, generous, intelligent, and kind people. No that they raised you to be the outstanding dad and husband you are. Love you both, Dianna B.

Bill and Kate- You know how much I adored Chrissy and loved Bill. He was a dear, dear friend and a brilliant colleague upon whom I depended for sage counsel and guidance in my own practice. We walked The Knob, your parents favorite place, (at least on the cape), every opportunity we could. I loved this walk with your boys, in the photo I uploaded. I think he felt Chrissy there and he loved sharing their favorite place with your children. I will cherish the wonderful times Ed and I had with your parents, especially our St. Thomas trips where I saw them in their true glory. They were up before dawn and fishing off the dock, cooking for our boat trips, and loving life! I miss them both so much and I am glad they shared a bit of their lives with us; my memories are rich and plentiful. My heart breaks for you and your children; he loved you all so very much! I will think of him with Chrissy now, happy and young again, fishing, cooking, talking about you and your beautiful children, and loving each other beyond measure. I pray he finds his peace. My sincere condolences and love, T.

My family knew Bill and Chrissy through Chrissy's job at the JC Solmonese School in Norton and our summers together in Marion and at Tabor Academy. My husband, also an attorney, worked with Bill on occasion. Please accept our condolences on the loss of such a special man. We have fond memories of the most wonderful summers with them both. We will keep the Condon family, especially Billy, his wife and grandchildren, in our prayers. Marianne Kelley
