Tony DiMaggio Bell passed away on February 21, 2022.

Tony was born on June 26, 1947 to the late Ethel Jones Bell and the late Otis Bell Sr.

Tony was the sixth born of seven children. Tony leaves behind his two daughters, Toni Deann Bell of Wakefield, MA, and Tia Amerson. Granddaughters Janaiah and Dawn along with her husband Don of Detroit, MI. Former wife Beverly Bell of Everett, MA. He also leaves behind Aunt Eddie Belle Bennett of Thomasville, GA. Dorothy B. Williams of Arlington, MA. Robert N. Belle of Boston, MA. The late William Kelly of Washington, DC. The late Otis Bell Jr of Boston, MA. The late Ray Bell of Sharon, MA. The late Samuel Belle of Sacramento CA and many relatives and close friends.

Tony was educated in the Boston Public Schools. When he graduated from Boston English High School in 1965 he joined the United Stated Marine Corp. He honorably served his tour of duty until 1968. After returning home from the Marines, Tony worked in construction as a foreman on The Big Dig Project.

Tony switched gears and worked for Iron Mountain Record Management Company as Supervisor. In 2011 Tony retired and enjoyed spending a considerable amount of time with his family and friends. It would be fair to say, that the greatest invention for Tony was the cell phone Because, if you are here now….. You know exactly what we are talking about.

Tony made it his mission to stay in close contact with his aunts, siblings, nieces, nephews, children and friends.

Tony was enlisted in the Marine Corp from 1965 – 1968. Tony loved sports and was an incredible chess player and athlete. His daughters and granddaughters were the love of his life. Tony was instrumental in developing many lifelong friendships That is rarely seen today.

Tony had a unique sense of style and was gifted in conversing with people from various backgrounds and cultures who truly respected and admired him.

Tony is undeniabley missed by all of us. However his thought provoking conversations and his words of wisdom and his acts of kindness and love will live on. Tony had a sense of faithfulness and loyalty to all that he embraced. It was clearly evident in the ways he chose to live his life.

Visitation will be held at the Dolan Funeral Home, 1140 Washington Street, DORCHESTER LOWER MILLS on Wednesday March 16th from 10-11AM. The Funeral Service will begin at 11AM.
