Therese (St. Hilaire) Merisier died in her home on Sunday, February 21, 2021.

Therese was born in Leogane, Haiti on January 10, 1927 to Rosite St. Hilaire and Locident Lemaire. Therese was raised in Haiti with her older brother, Gesner St. Hilaire. She became a seamstress and married her husband, Roberts Merisier in her early 20’s. Roberts preceded her in death in 2011.

Roberts and Therese had four children together Yvelyne Merisier (deceased), Rodrigue Merisier (deceased), Marie Jocelyne Glynn, and Guy Merisier. They later moved to Paris, France in the 1960s. In the late 70’s, Therese and her family slowly moved to New York City. She later moved to the greater Boston area in the 1980s.

She is survived by many loving family members, niece and nephew Fenix St. Hilaire and the late Lunie St. Hilaire, grandchildren Ronald Seldon, Wadley Merisier, Jimmy-Lee Noel, Maranatha Grant, Yveline Merisier, Roodlyne Merisier, Annabelle Merisier, Bruno Merisier, Paolo Merisier, Roosevelt Francois Jr., Siobhan Glynn, and Liam Glynn, great-grandchildren Jahleesa Merisier, Samuel Grant, Noah Grant, Olivia Noel, Anastasia Noel, and godchildren Macadler Dubreus and Immacula Geffread and family.

Therese had also created sisterly bonds with close friends such as Yvrose Romulus, Raymonde Jules and family, Marie-Yves and family, Nana Merisier, Rosalie Jaccima, Yolande Holly, Liotta, Madeleine, Luinick, and many others.

Visiting hours at the Dolan Funeral Home, 1140 Washington St., DORCHESTER LOWER MILLS on Friday, March 5, from 5-8 PM. Funeral Mass and interment private.
