Theodore F. Coleman “Ted” died unexpectedly on October 3, 2022. He was born to Beatrice & Theodore “Thady” Coleman in Boston, MA on May 24, 1939, but lived in Milton for 46 years. He was married to his devoted wife Ann for 52 years and together for 59 years. Ted was a veteran of the United States Army. It’s something that he was most proud of. It was when he was stationed in Virginia that he met Ann, who had just arrived from Scotland.

Ted graduated from Roxbury Memorial High School in 1957. Ted worked at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) for 33 years in the Physics Department. It was a big part of his life, and he was well liked. In retirement, Ted and Ann traveled the world, going on countless cruises to Europe, the Caribbean & South America as well as frequently visiting Ann’s family in Scotland.

Ted was extremely proud of his Irish heritage. His parents hailed from Sligo, Ireland, and Ted eventually became an Irish citizen. Ted was the youngest of 5 siblings who have all predeceased him. His brother James Coleman, John Coleman, Joseph (Joe) Coleman, and his sister Mary Mahoney (Coleman).

Beloved husband of Ann E. Coleman. Loving father of Theodore “Ted” M. Coleman. Loving Father-in-law to Lorena Coleman. Dear grandfather of Julian and Michael, who meant the world to him. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

A visitation will be held at the Dolan Funeral Home, 1140 Washington Street, DORCHESTER LOWER MILLS on Tuesday, October 11th. from 5-8PM. Funeral Mass Wednesday, October 12th. to begin at 10AM at St. Gregory Parish, 2215 Dorchester Avenue, Dorchester. Interment at St. Joseph Cemetery, West Roxbury, MA. Relatives and friends invited.
