Susan Ellen Bowden of Weymouth, affectionately known as Sue Boo, passed away peacefully on October 15th.

Born September 16, 1948 in Stuttgardt, Germany, Susan was an army brat raised during the reconstruction post WWII. She lived all over Germany, France, and the United States, crossing the Atlantic five times in her childhood.

After graduating from the University of Georgia, Susan went onto Pratt University in Brooklyn, NY, and ultimately landed a position at the Massachusetts College of Art in Boston. Here, Susan honed her lifelong talent as a fine art professional.

Living in Cambridge, Susan gave birth to two sons, later moving to Milton where she raised her boys, coached soccer, and continued to make her art.

In Susan’s later years she enjoyed painting, spending time with her friends, doting on her grandchildren, and caring for her companion chihuahua, Bijou.

Susan is predeceased by her mother and father, Edith and James Bowden of Virginia, and her late sister, Elizabeth “Babs” Buehrer of California. Susan is survived by her brother James “Bubba” Atticus Bowden of Virginia, her son Nathan Bourque of Milton, son David Bourque and wife Beth of Milton, and grandbabies David and Samuel Bourque. Susan was the beloved “cool” aunt to Susan Denton, Debby Shannon, and Becky Stambrook of California, Molly Bowden, Albert Bowden of Virginia, and Maggie Buchanan of Georgia.
