This is a sad occasion. I knew this brother for years. A very kind and caring man. I had the pleasure of working with this young man in the late 1990s to early 2000s I was the program at a juvenile justice program and Steve was a staff member who later became an assistant supervisor and then promoted to supervisor. He was an asset to the program and the teenagers in the program. He was a kind person and while at the program he was dedicated to the incarcerated teenagers and served as a positive african American male for the juveniles in the facility. His big smile brighten ed the program. Steve always tried to calm situations before it got out of hand. He was alway trying to get gang members on the two units to settle their "beef" with out violence. He will be missed .As I write this I can picture the team in the cafeteria some times talking about everything under the sun. As a past director and manager I would like to say job well done from Mara B, Raul P, Adam B, James B, George D, Mustafa, John M, Hershen , and Volunteers of America Massachusetts. πŸ™ rest in Peace .

What a legacy Stevie leaves behind. I envision you up there with your uncle Preston J Porter, swapping stories and laughter about the good times at the radio station. The family gatherings, summer barbecues, and cherished moments we shared. They will forever be etched in our hearts. My heartfelt condolences to Cindy Strickland, Art Strickland, Damion Dame, and the entire family. You have my deepest condolences and are in my thoughts and prayers. Love Auntie Jacquie

Meeting him for the first time at Mr Porters house was awesome. He had me cracking up. He was a character but he also kept it real. RIP bro.
