Sandra Roberson's life was a remarkable testament to the resilience of the human spirit, a celebration of love, andan enduring legacy of strength. Born on July 16, 1954, in Birmingham, Alabama, to Rev. Elizabeth Muse and
Clifford. Sandra's impact on those around her was profound and lasting. She departed this world on August 26, 2024, but her spirit will forever shine brightly in the hearts of many.
In 1967, Sandra moved to Boston with her family, where she attended the Jeremiah E. Burke School and later earned a diploma from the Adult Education Center. A devoted mother, she embraced the challenges of raising her five children with unwavering love and determination. In 1986, she met the love of her life, Thomas Roberson, andthey married on July 15, 1995, welcoming two more children into their beautifully blended family.
Sandra was not only a nurturing mother but also a guiding light for countless children in her community, inspiring them to pursue their dreams and stand strong against adversity. Her home was a sanctuary of support and encouragement, where everyone felt valued and cherished.
A true Renaissance woman, Sandra's talents were as diverse as her interests. She could create stunning outfits, expertly braid hair, and dominate the bowling alley, proudly winning nine trophies throughout her bowling career. Above all, she was a supermom who balanced her passions with grace and love.
Professionally, Sandra earned her CNA certification in 2000 and began her career at Marion Manor, one of South Boston's largest nursing homes. Here, she emerged as a leader and advocate for her colleagues, championing better working conditions and fair wages through her involvement with the SEIU union.
Sandra is preceded in death by her beloved mother, Rev. Elizabeth Muse; her sisters Yvette and Cynthia; her brothers Frankie and Elijah; her daughter Allicia; and her lifelong friends Tracey Toney, Rudina (Rudy) Miles, and Annie Slaughter. She is survived by her devoted husband, Thomas Roberson; her siblings Alfred, Pat, Bernard, Joanne, Raymond, and Debra; her children Catherine Anita, Kissi, Gwen Michelle, Sandy, Nina, and Selina; and her cherished grandchildren. Kay, Comi, Ciyana, Cordell, Myasia, Nijah, Stanley, Janiya, Angela, Thomas, Asah, Zoey, and Adrien; great grandson Tyson; lifelong friends Gaytra St. Vil and Maria Cardoza and Paula Berrio; and her chosen son True Born My Allah; and children she raised like her own, Christina Miles, Nadine O’Garro and Rahjene Berrio; and countless nieces, nephews, cousins, family members and friends. Sandra's legacy of love, resilience, and unwavering support will forever be etched in the hearts of those she touched. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
Visiting Hours Tuesday, September 17, 2024 in the Dolan Funeral Home, 1140 Washington Street, DORCHESTER LOWER MILLS, 5-8pm. Visiting Hour Wednesday, September 18, 2024, in Morningstar Baptist Church, 1257 Blue HIll Avenue, 10 - 11 am. Funeral Service, at 11 o'clock. Interment Private.
