Ret. Lt. Ronald Edward Thompson, 82, long-time resident of Hingham passed away December 21, 2021.

Born in Nashua, NH to the late Robert C. and Cecile M. (Dube) Thompson of Las Vegas, NV.

Ron was a graduate of Hull High School Class of 1958. He was a member of the 1058 National Guardsmen Hingham Armory and of the Connecticut National Guard. Ron worked for the Hingham Postal Service and the Hingham Fire Department for 30 years. He retired and worked for 11 years for the Hingham Lumber Company.

Beloved husband of 62 years to Katherine M. (Wehter) Thompson. Loving father of Jeffrey A. Thompson (Dolores) of Dorchester, Christopher E. Thompson of Hingham, Andrea M. James of Weymouth, and Jonathan P. Thompson (Jennifer) of Plymouth. Cherished Papa to Matthew, Elizabeth, Nicholas, Lucas, and Jacob. Ron is survived by his siblings Nancy Franzoni (Mark) of Duxbury, Elaine Schlender of WI and Michael Thompson (Cristin) of NV, his brother-in-law Richard Wehter (Sally) of Hingham and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Paul Church, 147 North Street, Hingham Square Wednesday December 29 at 11:00 AM, please meet at church. Family and friends invited. Visiting hours at Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Avenue EAST MILTON SQUARE Tuesday December 28 from 4-7 PM. Burial Saint Paul Cemetery.
