Obituary for Rodrigo Rodolfo Myrie

Rodrigo was born October 9th, 1957 (age 64) in Puerto Limon, Costa Rica and migrated to Boston, at the age of 9. Rigo was his nickname from his native friends and Rod by his friends in the US. He attended Malden High School and worked part time for the City of Malden as a snowplow driver. He was the only child of Gloria. He played basketball, and he was a big local sports and WWF wrestling fan. Upon graduating from Malden High, he chose to serve the US and enlisted in the NAVY where he served for 6 years. Rod toured the world as a Navy officer and was honorably discharged in 1983 and relocated to California. When he moved to California, he became a homeowner with his dog and started a career with the US Postal Services. He enjoyed wine tasting, hip hop and pop music. Rod was a concert goer and loved Carnival. He also loved sailing, fishing, the outdoors, exercising and weightlifting. Rod moved back to Boston and settled in Mattapan MA.

Rod is survived by his mother Gloria Isilda Myrie-Rowe, aunt Joyce, cousins Josephine, Rudy, Sheila, Damaris, Isela, Norma, Mark, Vilma, Federico, Patricia, Dorette. and a host of family and friends in the US and Costa Rica.

Funeral Service, Saturday, May 14, 2022 in the Dolan Funeral Home, 1140 Washington Street, DORCHESTER LOWER MILLS, at 11 ‘ clock. Visiting Hours 10 – 11 am. Interment St. Michael’s Cemetery, Boston.
