Obituary for Robert Lee Taylor

Robert Lee Taylor of Boston, MA passed away on April 19, 2021 after a brief illness.

Robert was born May 2, 1955 in Boston, MA. He was the 4th of 6 children born to Bert and Geneva Taylor. Robert was the first of his siblings born in Boston, where he as well as all of his siblings grew up in the neighborhood of Roxbury. They spent many days and nights with their mother Geneva, glorifying the Lord at Christ Temple Church of Personal Experience on Kenilworth Street in Roxbury.

Robert attended all of his schooling in Boston, graduating from Copley High in 1973. He briefly attended Roxbury Community College and later pursued a degree from Sanford Brown College.

Although, being born and raised in Roxbury, he spent 20 years residing in the city of Lynn raising his daughter Tanya McClurkin with her mother Donna McClurkin where they attended Imani Temple Church of God in Christ in Malden, MA. Robert held various management level positions at Copy Cop, Prudential Insurance, J.B. Hunt, Payless shoes and Health Express. Most recently he was a pharmacy tech at CVS where his dedication to service will be greatly missed.

In 2002, in a union blessed by God, Robert married Sarah Kisakye. They enjoyed over 18 blissful years filled with love, laughter and international travels with her children Joseph Bombokka and Celine Josephine Opido, making their family complete.

Robert was an avid sports fan (especially the Celtics and Patriots), a lover of smooth Jazz, Dean Koontz novels and could watching a good western on TV over and over again but overall Robert LOVED his family and God. He knew God loved him.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents Bert Taylor of Virginia and Geneva (Gooding) Taylor of North Carolina. He leaves to survive him his wife of 18 years Sarah Taylor of Mattapan, MA, his daughter Tanya McClurkin of Roxbury, MA, his children by marriage Joseph Bombakka (Dora) of Cincinnati, OH, Celine Josephine Opido (Douglas) of Lowell, MA. His 5 siblings William Taylor of Roxbury, MA. Edna Grace High (William) of Mattapan, MA, Geraldine Anderson (Jessi) of Mattapan, MA. Bonita Taylor (Aine) of Brockton, MA. and Keith Taylor (Donielle) of Snellville, GA. 4 grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews that will miss him dearly.

Visitation at the Dolan Funeral Home, 1140 Washington St., DORCHESTER LOWER MILLS on Thursday, April 29 from 10-11 AM. Funeral Service and interment private
