Obituary for Patricia M. Hennigan
Patricia M. “Pat” Hennigan, of Milton, age 80 passed away suddenly while vacationing in Greece, Thursday October 16, 2023.
She was predeceased by her parents, Thomas B Hennigan and Bridget (Shannon) Hennigan and her brother Francis Hennigan. She leaves behind her brothers Thomas R Hennigan and wife Marylyn Hennigan of Quincy and Kevin Hennigan and wife Marsha Hennigan of Houston, TX. Pat is also survived by nieces Margo & Kate, nephews Matthew & Nathan and many loved grandnieces, grandnephews, and cousins in the U.S. and Doolin, Ireland. She was the linchpin for her family and extended family both near and far.
Pat was a graduate of Emmanuel College in Boston and worked as a software engineer for many companies in the Boston area, including Wang, Digital Equipment, Polaroid and the MBTA. She was an early kidney transplant recipient and lived for over 50 years with her transplant. In later life, at the age of 68, Pat received her law degree from New England Law and devoted her law practice to providing pro bono legal services to seniors and veterans.
Pat was an extremely curious, generous and empathetic soul. She loved to research things and would be thoroughly knowledgeable within a week on any new topic that interested her. She loved new experiences and would always be telling you about the new restaurant, food, wine or trip that she recently experienced. Pat was generous with both her time and money. She would frequently be on the road visiting those who needed company, a ride to the doctor or a little help doing something they could not accomplish alone. On the fun side, she attended just about every big rock concert in Boston and Foxboro.
