Our beloved Father Needham Jefferson III, age 74, retired inspector, from the MBTA, and a resident of Milton, MA passed away peacefully on Friday, February 3, 2023. Needham was born in Livingston, Alabama, on November 11, 1948, to Needham Jefferson II and Ada Lee Jefferson. His father passed away when he was just 5 months old and was raised by his widowed mother. He was the 7th child of ten brothers and sisters. Needham graduated from Sumter County Training School where he loved playing football. He went on to marry Walter Mae Lee. The couple relocated from Alabama to Boston, MA in 1968. Together they had 3 daughters. After 14 years of marriage, they divorced. Needham went on to be a single dad, working very hard to raise his 3 daughters. After retiring, he lived a very simple life up until his passing. He loved cooking, home improvement projects, fixing cars, sports, and spending time with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father Needham Jefferson II, his mother Ada Lee Jefferson, and three siblings John H. Jefferson, Yvonne Roberson, and Lottie Harris. Needham is survived by his daughters Wendy V. Jefferson, Cindy V. Jefferson, Lashonda V. Jefferson, and Tatiana Jefferson; three Grandchildren Kevin J. Jefferson-Lockhart, Chrishonda S. Jefferson, and Rayla R. Willis, and one great-grandson Kevin J. Jefferson-Lockhart Jr. Two brothers Don Jefferson, Pastor Jettie Jefferson; four sisters Ever Lee Sampson, Doris Brooks, Daisy Thomas, Brenda Lewis and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family and friends. Funeral Service, Thursday, Febuary 16, 2023 at Jubilee Christian Church, 1500 Blue Hill Avenue, Mattapan, MA, at 11 o'clock. Visiting hour 10 - 11 am at the Church. Interment Milton Cemetery.
