Obituary for Michael R. Blackiemore

Michael R. Blackiemore of Randolph (South Boston and Brighton). Michael leaves his wife Judy, son Tyler, sister and brother-in-law Rob and Diane Bennett. He will be missed by his many loving nieces and nephews.

Born in Florida, Michael’s family was the first Black Family to move to South Boston in 1954. Michael's Mother was active in politics and supported Raymond Flynn who was always a friend to the family. Michael served as an altar boy at St. Peter and Paul and shined shoes at Blinstrub's Night Club. He attended public schools in his neighborhood, a member of the Boys Club in South Boston, The Boston Youth Symphony, and a graduate of Thompson Island Academy High School.

After high school, Michael enlisted in the Marine Corp and was in the Philippines when Saigon was evacuated. After his military service, he attended The Computer Learning Center as he began his career in the computer field. These were the early years of computers, and from the 1970s to the 2000s he worked on mainframes at several large corporations.

Memorial Service will be held at the Dolan Funeral Home, 1140 Washington Street, DORCHESTER LOWER MILLS on October 28th from 2-4PM. Please join us to celebrate Michael’s life.

To the Blackiemore family - We are so saddened to hear of your loss. Michael had a smile that lit up the room and an unforgettable laugh that begs to be recalled. Although we lost touch over the years I still have so many great memories of him and growing up in South Boston. I'll always remember how when in his presence, he had a way of making you feel special. He really cared for you as a friend and thought what you had to say was important and so he listened. RIP my friend. Teresa and Tom Flaherty

Judy, We are so sorry to hear about Michaels passing. You are so lucky to have had this incredible man for the time you did. He was older than me but was a hero to me. Lost touch but reconnected 2 years ago and thank God we did. Goodbye Michael and see you in Heaven. Libby
