Dear Maureen and the entire Flanagan and Kingston family - I am so sad to hear of Mike's passing and incredibly sorry to have missed celebrating Mike's life and legacy with all of you over the last few days. -- Although we lost touch, I thought of Mike often. Passing through Sagamore Beach, I always found myself peering down Mayflower Road hoping to see if anyone was in the yard. -- I'll cherish the great times we shared. I posted a photo above, on the beach at the Casino. I shared that photo often with friends over the years. All wanted to meet the handsome, shirtless kid with the mischievous grin. Miss you all - Dave Matt

My deepest sympathies to Maureen and the entire Kingston and Flanagan family. Growing up, we all had tons of fun both in Newton and Sagamore Beach. He was kind, playful and witty, I only have fond memories of the time spent together. May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face; the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand. Sue Travers Courtade

I have known Mike since 2007 as Biotech Finance peers. Mike was always willing to listen and very helpful. Many people I know worked for Mike over the years, and they were very complimentary of Mike's caring ways. I will very much miss Mike. He was a great man and friend.

I provided insurance brokerage services to Mike at his last two employers. He was our team's primary point of contact and he treated us as partners. He was kind and gentle and we worked extra hard to try and deliver our best because of it. I too heard his optimism about his cancer, but that was his nature, I think. Rest easy, Mike.

I audited Sarepta for a few years and knew Mike in my capacity as an auditor. He was first a client but turned into a mentor. Mike helped me navigate a few big career decisions and for that I will always be thankful. He was such a nice guy. My thoughts are with his family and friends.

Maureen and Tom, Billy, Ellen, Sue, and Moe, and all the rest of Mikes large family, I'm so sorry. Mike was a fine man who loved in such a beautiful way, and, had one of the best senses of humor. One time I was telling him that in my genealogy research, I found that our Grandaddy and Gram (Flanagan) had (after they died) been given "proxy baptisms" by the Mormons. Mike paused, and said, "I didn't do it." He always cracked me up. My heart goes out to you for the loss of such a wonderful person. I'll miss him.

I am so terribly sorry to hear this news of Mike's passing. Mike and I worked together for years at Sarepta. While I did not know him really well, we spoke regularly and he was always welcoming and friendly. Always willing to chat and share in a story. I remember him as smiling and laughing, trustworthy and reliable. I am very saddened to see this and am thinking of all his friends, family and loved ones. He will be remembered fondly by me. Love, condolences, Chris Jenkins

I am so sad to hear of the passing of Mike, he was a true gentleman, it was a privilege to know Mike. We had many skates and sometimes a pint or 2 after. He is and will be missed. Mike hired me to Sarepta during a very difficult period of my professional career. Without Mike, I would not be where I am today. I am forever indebted to him. The last time I talked with him was about two years ago about a work-related topic. During the the phone call, Mike mentioned to me that he had a cancer scare the year before and that everything was fine. The one thing I regretted not doing is not keeping in touch with him during the last couple of years. I will always cherish his friendship and mentorship. RIP, Mike.
