Obituary for Michael Harte

Michael “Joe” Harte of Braintree, formerly of Dorchester, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2023, surrounded by the family he adored.

Born in Castlerea, Roscommon, Ireland, Michael immigrated to the United States where he met and married his beloved wife, Sheila, at the Irish Dance Hall.

Faith, family and a strong work ethic defined him. A devout Catholic, he was a daily communicant at St Anthony Shrine. Proud member of Laborers Local 223. An incredible dancer, you could always find him at the Irish Social Club. He enjoyed spending time with his many friends at the local bakery and Castle Island. Always willing to help anyone in need, he will be sorely missed.

He is survived by his loving wife Sheila. He was the father of James and his wife Jessica, Ellen and her husband Frank, Michael, Sheila and her husband Steve, Ann and Theresa. Loving “Papa” to Kayla, Ella, Shannon, Meagan, Steven, Andrew, Amanda, Kevin, Ryan and Coleen. Brother of Patrick and Veronica of Ireland and the late Mary, Anne and James. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
