Michael “Mike” Cole passed away on July 2, 2021, at age 38, and though he died suddenly, he did so surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor his legacy by living their lives with conviction and tenacity.

On October 8,1982, Mike burst into this world weighing 7 pounds 6 ounces. The oldest child, he came out of the womb determined, gritty and tough. Growing up, he prided himself on being a protector of not only his family but of those lucky enough to be called his friends.

After attending Hyde Park High School, Mike became a father. From that moment on, he became a jack of all trades. He did the laundry, ran the errands, cleaned. He prided himself on his ability to cook and cooking, he did well and often. He had a knack for telling stories and always made you laugh. He never took himself too seriously. He also took on roles as a taxi driver, food deliver, bouncer and security guard. A master hustler, there wasn’t a driving or food delivery company that he didn’t work for. If you needed him, he was only a call (or Uber ride) away.

It is no coincidence that Mike gained the nickname Squeeze. Every day, he squeezed every ounce of himself – his love, his energy, his strength – and poured it into those he loved. The size of Mike’s heart was perhaps, only surpassed by his shoe size.

Mike is survived by his mother, Gloria; grandfather, Mervin; grandmothers Dorin and Cynthia; partner, Laresa; children: Michael Jr., Micah, Elijah and Maliah; sister, Janelle; brothers, Shaquan and Shakheim; and niece, Alorah. He is also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will all miss him dearly.

Visiting Hours will be held at the Dolan Funeral Home, 1140 Washington Street, DORCHESTER LOWER MILLS on Saturday July 17, from 2-3pm. Funeral Service at 3pm.
