Obituary for Michael Andrew Gibbons

Michael Andrew Gibbons, of Milton, formerly of Savin Hill, Dorchester, died peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on December 25, 2024.

Beloved husband of Eileen B. (O’Sullivan) Gibbons of Milton.

Loving father of James R. and his wife Ashley Gibbons of Milton, and John M. Gibbons and his fiancé Presley McLaughlin of Whitman.

Devoted “Papa” of Christopher James and Shane Michael Gibbons.

Son of the late James L. Gibbons and Phyllis M. (Gallagher) Gibbons.

Brother of the late Christopher James Gibbons.

Michael is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Michael was a proud member of Local 12003 Steelworkers at National Grid where he worked for 44 years in various roles including Foreman and Tool Room attendant. He was happiest around friends and family, especially in Wells, Maine, where he spent his summers on the beach. His greatest joy was being a father, grandfather, friend, and coach.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Agatha Church, 432 Adams Street, Milton, Saturday, January 4 at 10:30 A.M. Visiting hours at Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Avenue, EAST MILTON SQUARE, Friday, January 3 from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Interment in Milton Cemetery, 211 Centre Street, Milton. Family and friends are invited to attend all services.
