Mary Grace Marseglia, beloved wife, and mother, passed away on December 3, 2021, at home surrounded by her family.
She celebrated her 100th birthday in January of 2021. Gracie, as friends and family called her, was born in Somerville, MA on January 28, 1921. She was married to the late Edmund Marseglia for 16 years. She was a caring and kind woman with a good sense of humor. Gracie was born and raised in Somerville, MA. After she married, she lived in Roslindale where she raised her three daughters. Gracie was active in her church which was the Roslindale Congregational Church. Her passion was sewing, though she also loved to crochet and bead as well as other crafts. She worked as a seamstress for many years, manufacturing student nurses and doctors uniforms for the hospital nursing schools. She was a great Italian cook who love to cook for her family, especially during the holidays. In her later years, she enjoyed watching all the old movies from the 1930’s, 40’s and 50’s.
Gracie was preceded in death by her parents, Maria G. and Damiano Guglietta; her sisters Elizabeth Albano and Nancy DiCiaccio and nephew, Paul Marseglia. Gracie is survived by and will be forever missed by her brother, Peter Guglietta (Lillian) of Somerville, MA and sister, Tina Guglietta of Gaeta, Italy, her daughters, Angela Marseglia (Lorraine Liotta) of Randolph, MA, Maria Ware-McGuinness (Peter) of Mansfield, MA and Nanette Diaute (Stephen) of Dedham, MA.
A Memorial Service will be held St. Michael’s Episcopal Church, 112 Randolph Ave, Milton, MA on Saturday, December 18 at 11:00 AM. Family and friends are invited. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Old Colony Hospice, 321 Manley Street, West Bridgewater, MA 02379.
