Obituary for Marianne Baker O’Malley
Marianne Baker O’Malley, of Scituate, passed away peacefully on May 18, 2021 after a short and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. She embodied love and true faith and will always be remembered for her bright smile and strong spirit.
Daughter of the late Dr. William Baker and Mary Baker, she is survived by her husband Thomas O’Malley and is a proud mother to her four children: Rachel, Catherine, Luke, and Juliet, all of Scituate. She also is survived by her seven siblings, Dr. Richard Baker and wife Mary Ellen, William Baker Jr. and wife Kathy, Elaine Corcoran and husband Mark, Stephen Baker and wife Rosemary, Jay Baker and wife Marianne, Christopher Baker and wife Lauryn, and David Baker and wife Dawn, all of whom she loved dearly.
Marianne was born in 1955 and grew up in Braintree before moving to Scituate where she has lived for 28 years. She graduated from Archbishop Williams in 1973 and earned degrees at both Forsyth School of Dental Hygiene and Chamberlayne College where she studied interior design. She had a passion for creativity and was a true artist, practicing calligraphy and interior design. Marianne also enjoyed spending time at the beach with family and friends.
Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours at Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Avenue, EAST MILTON SQUARE, Tuesday May 25, 2021 from 4 – 8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Mary of the Nativity Church, 1 Kent Street, Scituate, Wednesday at 11am. Interment St. Mary Cemetery, Scituate.
