Margaret Mary Murphy, Of Milton, formerly of Cotuit and West Roxbury, passed away on March 15, 2022, at the age of 87.

Born in Roslindale, daughter of the late Dennis R. and Helen F. (Flynn) Murphy. Sister of the late Eileen Murphy Kudera, Richard T., and Robert L. Murphy. She graduated from St. Francis Xavier school and Mt. St Joseph Academy. A proud graduate of Boston College, Class of 1956, she was in the first class of women on the Chestnut Hill campus. She taught math for several years before joining IBM where she enjoyed a long and successful career as a Systems Engineer and Instructor. She traveled the world, but most enjoyed her many trips to Ireland. She is survived by her nieces Mary Ellen Kudera, Clare Kudera Billows, Kara Roberts, Kathleen Kudera and Margaret Johnson, her nephew, Richard Kudera. Margaret’s 5 great nieces and 2 great nephews will miss their “Auntie”. She leaves her cousins here in the US and in Ireland; her many devoted, longtime friends from grammar school to MSJA to BC, IBM, and dear friend, Mary Hoyle Mahan.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Mary of the Hills Church, 29 Saint Mary’s Road, Milton, Tuesday March 22 at 10:00 AM. Family and friends invited. Visiting hours at Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Avenue, EAST MILTON SQUARE, Monday March 21 from 2-5 PM. The burial will be private.
