Obituary for Malcolm Wayne Smith

Malcolm W Smith was born on March 2, 1971 in Boston Massachusetts to William McGill Sr and Alice Smith. He was raised by his loving aunt Oweter Winn. Malcolm attended the Boston public schools. He graduated from English high school and went on to attend college in Nova Scotia Canada to play basketball. Malcolm also attended Roxbury community college where he studied sports medicine. Malcolm had a love for basketball and was very talented in it. The way he moved on the court was amazing and his slam dunk shots were outstanding.

Malcolm worked as a mental health counselor for many years. He was a dedicated employee for Bay cove human services and Delta-T group for decades. Malcolm leaves to cherish his memory his wife Darlene Carter-Smith, his son Malik Carter, his daughter Sage Smith, his step son Xavier Loving, his brother William McGill Jr, his sister Yvette McGill, his sister Tushonie Smith, his brother Abraham Smith, his brother in-law Tony Rhome, his niece Dashana Smith, his great nephew Dante Singleton, his Aunt Oweter Winn, his Mother in-law Darlene Carter. A host of uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends. Malcolm was preceded in death by his father William McGill Sr and mother Alice Smith.

Funeral Service Friday, June 30, 2023, in the Dolan Funeral Home, 1140 Washington Street, DORCHESTER LOWER MILLS, at Noon. Visiting Hours 11 - 12pm. Interment Oak Lawn Cemetery.

    Wow, I cannot believe I am writing a sympathy memory about you, especially as many battles we had in basketball when you played for English and I for Boston Tech. You had a smooth game and smile but more importantly just a good person. Rest easy my friend Greg "Country" Gamble.
