Obituary for Lynn Marie Monteiro

Lynn Marie Monteiro was born in Boston, MA, on March 29, 1957, to Theresa and Frank Monteiro. She passed away on April 14, 2025 after a courageous two-year battle with cancer.

Lynn was a vibrant soul with an extraordinary gift for connecting with others. Her warm, outgoing nature allowed her to strike up conversations with anyone, and she made friends effortlessly wherever she went. Blessed with an uncanny ability to remember names and faces, Lynn maintained lifelong connections with people from every chapter of her life. Her family, faith, and friends were the most important things to her. She also found joy in lighter moments - bingo, casino trips and lottery scratch tickets.

In her late 50s, Lynn's compassion for others inspired her to pursue a new calling. She enrolled at Bunker Hill Community College with the dream of becoming a social worker to support children in crisis. She earned her associate's degree and was working toward her bachelor's degree when illness interrupted her plans. Even during her battle with cancer, Lynn's strength and faith shone through. She began writing a book, hoping to share her journey and to inspire others facing similar challenges.

Above all, Lynn's greatest joy was her grandchildren - her five grandsons Jayden Sailsman, Jordan Campbell Sailsman, Kayden Campbell Sailsman, Chase Saunders and Brayden Campbell Sailsman and her only granddaughter, Payton Whitmore. Their presence lit up her world, whether they were visiting in person or chatting on the phone. Lynn delighted in spoiling them, always making sure to buy their favorite snacks on her trips to the grocery store.

Lynn leaves behind her two daughters, Melissa Reed and Michelle Sailsman, and Michelle's partner, Devan Campbell; her cherished grandchildren; and her siblings: Fatima Pires-Dacruz and her husband Manuel, Andre Monteiro and his wife Armanda, Cheryl Pires-Taylor, Virginia Monteiro, Frank V. Monteiro II and his wife Leocadia, Maria Monteiro, Sonia Monteiro and Frank D. Monteiro and his wife Ana. She is also survived by a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, godchildren, cousins and countless friends who will forever cherish her memory. Lynn was predeceased by her parents, Theresa and Frank Monteiro, and her brothers Carlos Pires, Jose Manuel Freire, and Emmanuel Monteiro.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to everyone who supported Lynn during her illness and offered love and comfort to the family during this difficult time.
