Obituary for Louisana Hercule
Louisana Hercule, 61, of Dorchester, died Sunday January 24, 2021.
Louisana, affectionately known as “Lolo”, adored mother of three, transitioned from life on earth to her everlasting home with the Lord.
A compassionate woman with a remarkable way of leaving a loving impression on others, Lolo was born in Jacmel, Haiti in 1959, to parents, Diesuel Bertrand and Christiana Hercule. She voyaged to the United States with her older sister, Rosemarie in the late 70’s. Lolo planted her roots in Boston, MA and cultivated a stunning sense of fashion as she worked as a seamstress in Downtown, Boston.
Lolo welcomed her first born, Derek and later her family grew with her daughter Joanne “TiTi” and soon after Roselynne “Bebe”, nicknamed by their older brother. The three of them were the center of her world.
In the early 90’s, Lolo embarked on her 30-year career in the healthcare industry. Loved by colleagues, patients, and caregivers for her outstanding work ethic, she emphatically cared for all. Later in that decade she became an American Citizen and wore that accomplishment with honor.
Lolo dedicated her life to support her children through college, their careers, and accomplishments throughout their adulthood. Her children’s career paths mirrored their mother’s work integrity, compassion for others, and desire to evolve.
Over the years, Lolo increasingly gained popularity and respect in the Haitian Community. Her enthusiasm for music and dancing, joy for traveling and entertaining with her festive home gatherings, helped foster relationships, where friends quickly became family.
Lolo was that person you could always count on, being there to celebrate important milestones and being even closer to wipe tears away during difficult times was important to her. Between her beautiful smile, forever changing hair styles, homemade delicious cooking, and heart-felt gifts; Lolo created sparks of love in people’s lives.
Lolo’s grandchildren, Sanyi, Sebastien, Derek Jr., and Jermaine became her additional heart beats. She spoiled them with love, gifts, and more importantly, her time. As a proud homeowner, Nana Lolo hosted birthdays and sleepovers for her grandbabies, making a warm loving home.
Louisana was an incredible woman who had a relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. Her home is filled with countless bibles and her Chants D’Esperance. Her faith inspired her to touch many hearts, changed people’s lives for the better and she was loved. Lolo would often say “One life to live” as she championed others to enjoy the beauty in life.
Her legacy will continue with her children; Derek, Joanne, Roselynne, grandchildren; Sanyi, Sebastien, Derek Jr., and Jermaine, siblings; Rosemarie, Nivel, Serge, Richmonde, Mediliet, Maneta, Renette, Melius, Wanis, and Olene. Extended family members that include, Dabel, Robin, Brittany, Marie, Sergine, Jocelyn, Amalia, Philomene and many more….
