Loretta I. Smith, was born July 9, 1962 in Britton’s Neck, SC. to the Late Samuel and Janet Richardson.

After graduating from Brighton High School, she attended Bryman, where she received her LPN certification. Serving several years in the medical field, she then became employed with Boston Edison as a Meter Reader, where she retired after 20 years of service.

She leaves to cherish fond and loving memories, her three sons Gary, Emmanuel and Marcus Smith, all of Boston, MA; one sister Angelene Richardson AKA “Baby Girl” and a nephew who she considered her fourth son Shayne Green of Boston, MA; eight grandchildren Emmanuel Jamal “EJ” Smith of Providence, RI, Alexis Smith, Jeremiah Smith, Benjamin Smith, Mason Smith, Melody Smith, Honest Smith and Mya Smith all of Boston, MA.; six god-daughters Dajuana Smith and Nadine Wilkerson both of Boston, MA, Tramaine LaMontte, Sonji LaMontte, Liandra LaMontte, and Sabia LaMontte, all of Lithonia, GA.; two god-sisters Anita McDaniel and Nicole Graves both of Boston, MA.; a former husband Gary M. Smith of Boston; Uncle Levern (Darlene) Woodberry, Aunt Mary Battle of Brittons Neck, SC and Aunt Starlene Robinson, Brooklyn, NY; and host of in-laws, nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Saint John Missionary Baptist Church, 230 Warren Street, Roxbury, Monday January 10 at 11:00 AM. Family and friends invited. A visitation will be held from 10-11 AM at the church. Burial at Saint Michael’s Cemetery.
