Obituary for Lauren Elizabeth Maloney
Lauren Elizabeth Maloney, a nurse and life-long resident of Dorchester, MA passed away unexpectedly on July 31, 2021 at the age of 37 while on vacation in Provincetown, MA with her family and friends from Port Norfolk Yacht Club.
Lauren is survived by her parents James Maloney Jr. and Marilyn Maloney (Wajcium) of Dorchester, sister Jennifer McCarthy and husband Edward McCarthy of Dorchester and brother James Maloney III of Dorchester. She was the beloved aunt to Edward “Teddy” McCarthy IV. She is also survived by aunts and uncles; Maureen Mulkern and her husband Geoff Kalika of Charlestown, MA, Kathleen Maloney and her husband Mike Kelley of Quincy, and Vincent Maloney and wife Nina of Medford, and Mary Clare Maloney of Dorchester, Jean Sheehan of Quincy, Jack Wajcium and wife Elaine of Quincy, Helen Morse of Weymouth, Mary Tilley of Braintree and many cousins. She was preceded in death by grandparents James and Mary Maloney and John and Mary Wajcium all of Dorchester, Aunts Barbara Shaughnessy of Quincy, and Betty and Elliot Whyte of Quincy and Frank Tilley of Weymouth.
Lauren was born on August 26, 1983 in Boston, MA. She was a graduate of Fontbonne Academy, Milton and the Blue Hills Regional Practical Nursing Program. Lauren was a much loved and respected Nurse Manager at the Boston Home and will be remembered fondly as a passionate advocate for the resident’s health and wellbeing. In addition to her professional life, Lauren was a loving and devoted daughter and sibling and adoring aunt. She had a lifelong passion for being on the water. Lauren was the life of any party and could, more often than not, be found entertaining others with her passionate singing. She was also a loyal and loving friend to her many, many friends. She will be deeply missed by all those she knew and loved her.
Visiting Hours Thursday, August 5, 2021 in the Dolan Funeral Home, 1140 Washington Street, DORCHESTER LOWER MILLS, 4-8 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, August 6, 2021 at St. Ann Church, 243 Neponset Avenue, Dorchester at 11:30 am. Interment Cedar Grove Cemetery, Dorchester.
