Obituary for Kyle D. Ollmann

Kyle D. Ollmann, of Springfield, formerly of Quincy, died suddenly on June 10, 2024. He was 23 years old.

Beloved son of Kathleen (Noonan) Ollmann and Mark Ollmann of Quincy. Devoted brother of Conor and Jake Ollmann, both of Quincy. Grandson of Mary Jo Noonan and the late David Noonan, Sylvia Ollmann & late Rudolf Ollmann. Beloved nephew of Margaret Noonan, John Noonan and his wife Zita, Susanne Ollmann, Lisa Mair & Glen Mair. Cherished cousin Rachael & William Mair & Elise Ollmann. Kyle is also lovingly survived by many devoted friends and extended family, especially his lifelong friend, Eoin Varden of Quincy.

A lifelong resident of Quincy Kyle was a graduate of Quincy High School, Class of 2019.

Kyle’s family was extremely proud of him to have bought his first house at 22 years old after all his hardships and be a landlord. He worked at UMass Amherst in the Maintenance Dept and was excited to explore and embark on a new career in HVAC. He was proud and would joke that he never missed a day yet.

Kyles adventures with his friends took him all over the country. He loved to hike and had reached the summit of multiple mountains in New England including Mt. Washington, Mt. Katahdin, Mt. Moosilauke and Mt. Marcy. One of his local favorites was Rattlesnake Hill in the Blue Hills, which he hiked hundreds of times.

He loved to travel and attend concerts with his friends all over the country. He had recently traveled to Las Vegas and his next adventure was going to be Yellowstone National Park. He had a new passion for wood carving, was an avid reader and history buff and he enjoyed philosophical books. He was a smart, kind, loving, funny and polite young man. Kyle will be missed by all who had the pleasure to have known and loved him.

Kyle was a devoted friend, son, cousin and nephew, but especially devoted big brother to Conor and Jake. Everyone who met Kyle loved him and enjoyed his sense of humor and personality. Words can not express how much he was loved by so many people. His family is heartbroken by his untimely death but know he will live on in our hearts. They are also extremely overwhelmed by the amount of love and support that has been shown to their family during this unspeakable tragedy and it is comforting to know how many people truly loved Kyle as much as we did.

I only knew Kyle only for a bit but I could see a great work ethic and I rising supper star at Umass. I got to train many people in my 20 plus years at the university. Kyle was special and I spoke to my bosses and told them so. I'm so sad for your loss I do understand your loss as I lost my daughter at 19 years old and I've never felt pain like we feel now for Kyle. The best advice I got was keep one foot in front of the other and crying is ok. Kyle his family and friends will be included in my prayers. Rip kyle till we meet again.

We will always remember Kyle as the fun-loving little boy who had questions about everything, frequently asking "and then what might happen?" He would come down from upstairs to visit us when we were on the first floor. We look back so fondly on memories of Kyle from this time. Sometimes he would scrunch his face up as he expressed his displeasure with whatever was happening and called it his "Cranky the Crane" face. My favorite game to play with him during this time was to turn him upside down and "shake him for change." We would spin around in circles with him laughing the whole time asking repeatedly for another spin. Kyle will be missed by all of those who were fortunate to have met him and whose lives he touched. Our condolences to all who loved him.

Dear Katie and family, Meg and I are heartbroken with the news of Kyle's passing. We have been neighbors for a long time. We have watched your boys grow up. The 3 of them have often helped us shovel on those particularly stormy winters. Our deepest condolences on this sad occasion. Love, Barbara and Meg Owens

Kyle made his way In to our life on September 27,2000. He was to become the light of our lives along later with his two younger brothers, Conor and Jake. Papa wAs absolutely the best. He always had time and energy to share with them.He taught Kyle to respect and take care of tools while the two of them tinkered in Papa's man cave.Ever the curious, smart little boy he picked Papa's brain to do it right. He constantly would question if he was doing it right which made Papa smile and chuckle at his industrious little compadre. Whether it was helping Papa or arguing with Noni while they built Lego structures, Kyle would be tenacious in his discussions. He was a leader and cared and protected his younger brothers. He is deeply loved and has left a very deep hole in his Noni heart. The only consolation is that he is with his favorite person in the world, Papa, who will Protect and help him over come his pain and perhaps teach him to have a little joy.Love and miss the two of you babes

It's with my deepest sympathy to all of Kyle's family and friends that were fortunate enough to have such a great person in their lives . I've only known Kyle for a short period of time as his Forman at UMass, the impression on myself and staff will long be remembered. He brought with him a youthful energy to our shop that wasn't unnoticed by his peers. He was well liked and respected. He was mature beyond his year. God bless all during this difficult time.

I'm met Kyle at Umass. He helped me load something into my van, pretty much picked up the whole thing himself. I knew almost right away when I met him he was an honorable, polite, charming young man. Very sad to hear this news. My condolences to Kyle's family. Jim Piantoni Umass Amherst
