Kern Fyfield passed away on Sunday, August 20, 2023.

Kern was born in Trinidad & Tobago, West Indies to Reynold Fyfield (deceased) and Janice Campbell Fyfield.

Several years ago, Kern gave his life to Christ and was baptized in Jubilee Christian Church in Mattapan, MA.

He attended Boston Public Schools and graduated from Boston Technical High School. After graduating from high school and graduating from an Electrical Apprenticeship he went on to become an Electrical Journeyman, joining the Local IBEW 103 Union in 1987.

Following a work injury, he reduced his work responsibilities to help with the care of his father, then in 2015 he took on the shared caregiving responsibilities of managing the day to day needs of his mother when she became ill.

Kern was recently described by a neighbor as being a kind and dutiful son. He was not a man of many words, but always shared thoughtful words of wisdom, and greeted everyone with a warm hello and a big smile.

Kern loved his family, and particularly enjoyed mentoring and joking around with his nieces and nephews. He loved to cook, enjoyed watching and discussing sports, listening to his old school reggae music collection and dedicated time to reading the Word, and books some written by CS Lewis.

Whether gardening, mowing the lawn, assisting others with electrical projects, replacing roof tiles, Kern was quite the handyman.

Kern leaves to mourn his passing (in addition to his mother Janice,) six brothers, Richard, Keith, Rawlyn, Jerome, Carlos, Patrick, sister, Judy, his seven nephews, three nieces, and fourteen great nephews and nieces, as well as the Guada family, the Jacksons and a host of other cousins, relatives and close family friends, both in Trinidad and the US. Kern was deeply loved and will be dearly missed by his mother, brothers, sister and all who knew him. WE LOVE YOU MAN!

Visitation will be held at People's Baptist Church, 830 Tremont Street in Boston on Monday, August 28th from 10-11AM. The Funeral Service will begin at 11AM. Interment at Oak Lawn Cemetery.
