Obituary for Joseph S. Corbett
Corbett, Joseph S. “Joe” age 67, of Chelsea, formerly of Dorchester, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family April 7, 2023.
After graduating from high school, Joe enlisted in the U.S. Army where he proudly served his country from 1975-1978 and continued serving in the U.S. Army Reserves until he was honorably discharged in 1981.
Joe was a longtime employee of Charles D. Sheehy, Inc. Prior to his stroke in 2017, he was a Corporate Livery Driver for Carey International Livery Services.
Devoted father of Joseph Corbett Jr. of Quincy and Zachary Corbett of Billerica. Joe is also survived by his loving siblings, Nancy and Dennis O’Rourke of Hollis, NH; Michael and Margaret Corbett of Plymouth; Mark and Christine Corbett of Stoneham; Debra and John Crowley of Braintree; Roseanne and Ray Haynes of Salem, NH; as well as many nieces and nephews, extended family, and lifelong friends. Joe is predeceased by his parents, John J. Corbett and Catherine M. (Snookie) Corbett.
Joe’s greatest joy was being a dad and spending as much time as possible with his boys. Prior to his stroke, Joe was an avid Bowler. In his spare time, he enjoyed getting out on the golf course and playing cribbage. One of Joe’s proudest accomplishments is his 15 years of sobriety. He has shown immense courage and strength throughout his journey to live a sober lifestyle.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the funeral procession from Dolan Funeral Home at 9 AM on Wednesday, April 12th a Mass of Christian Burial will then be celebrated in Saint Francis of Assisi Church, 856 Washington Street, Braintree at 10:00 AM. Visiting hours at Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Avenue, EAST MILTON SQUARE Tuesday, April 11 from 4-8 PM. Interment Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, Thursday April 13 at 12:45 PM.
