Joseph Arnold Kavanaugh passed away on November 25, 2023.

Joseph was born in Tela, Honduras to Arnold Kavanaugh and Eloraine Anderson. He was raised in La Ceiba, Honduras, where he completed his primary and secondary education. While in Honduras, he operated machinery on highways.

In 1986, Arnold migrated to the United States where he made a home in the Dorchester area of Boston, MA. He worked his career in the trucking industry until his retirement. In his pass-time, Arnold enjoyed attending dances with loved ones, he looked forward to dominoes and card games on the weekends, and he was an avid player of the lottery; he was a lover of sports and a very skilled cook. Arnold expressed his love for family often. The children around him adored him, and he treated them all as his own. He instilled deeply rooted values of manners, respect, education, and a strong work ethic in his children, and in the people he loved.

Arnold leaves to mourn his passing, his five children: Eloraine Kavanaugh-Inestroza, Gloria Kavanaugh-Inestroza, Arnold Kavanaugh, Harold Kavanaugh, and Johanna Brown, his twelve grandchildren: Willy Kavanaugh, Glenda Membreño-Kavanaugh, Mario Membreño-Ka vanaugh, Andrea Membreño-Ka vanaugh, Deysi Kavanaugh, Jansy Kavanaugh, Bary Kavanaugh, Kourtney Kavanaugh, Joseph Kavanaugh, Dacia Kavanaugh, James Armand Jr., and Jazmyn Armand, his surviving siblings: Eda Marshall, Dorothy Belcarris, and David Kavanaugh, and his significant-other, Mary Barnes. In addition, he leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, step-children, step-grandchildren and other family and friends. He will be sorely missed and forever in our hearts.

Visitation will be held at the Dolan Funeral Home, 1140 Washington Street, DORCHESTER LOWER MILLS on Saturday, December 9th from 10-11AM. Funeral Service at 11AM. Interment at Oak Lawn Cemetery
