John Richard Osborne (also loving known as Uncle Doods, Uncle Brothers and Big J) of Dorchester was born to William and Susannah (Skerritt) Osborne on April 17, 1931 on the island of Monserrat in the West Indies. He departed this life unexpectedly on February 18, 2022 in the town he had lived in for over 56 years.

John leaves to treasure his loving memory, his children, Leroy (Stephanie), Leslie (Angela), Brenda, Bernice (Steven), his adopted son Jose de Los Santos, his siblings Mary Daley, Mary Scarlett, Diana Roserie, Peter Ryan. He was preceded in death by his siblings Selina Osborne, Margaret Reynolds and Ann Ryan. He also leaves grandchildren Leslie Jr, Elijah, Leroy Jr (Todd), Shalonge (Duckie), Ashlei, Michael, Wesley, Taavis, Kristina and the late Quinten and “adopted” grandchildren Andre, Javon and the late Justin, great-grandchildren Navaeh, Mia, Leslie III, Lucky, Niyani, Annisa, Xavier, Omri, Josiah, Nasir, Ava, Serenity, Kayla, Jacob, Joshua, Ella Marie, Malia, Michaela (Dream), Anara, Elden and Quincy. Additionally, we have embraced and “adopted” Hyacinth into our family, who loving cared for John and Mary Osborne. We are eternally grateful and cannot thank you for the genuine love and care you have given our parents and all of us. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

Visiting Hours Friday, March 4, 2022, in the Dolan Funeral Home, 1140 Washington Street, DORCHESTER LWOER MILLS, 4-8 pm. Funeral Mass, Saturday ,March 5, 2022, in All Saints Episcopal Church, 209 Ashmont Street Dorchester, at 10 o’clock. Interment Private.
