Obituary for John R. Wynn

John R. Wynn, 55, of Roxbury passed away February 12, 2021 after a long illness.

John was born into this world on May 26, 1965 in Brevard, North Carolina to Pauline Wynn. He was the youngest of four children and the father of one daughter.

John was a 1983 graduate of Charlestown High School, Charlestown, Massachusetts. He continued his education at Lincoln Tech where he earned a certification of data entry.

John married Valerie Charest, (divorced) and of this union one daughter Jacqueline Wynn was born. He and Jacqueline were best of friends who had an unbreakable bond fueled by the love they shared for one another. John cherished spending as much time as he could with Jacqueline – which included traveling together, site-seeing to dining out or just hanging out together.

Upon earning his certification in data entry, John was employed by the Unisys Corporation in Cambridge, Massachusetts as a Data Entry Clerk where he worked for 10 years.

He spent the remaining 23 years of his career working as a dedicated, loyal employee for the CVS Corporation, where he worked as a Shipping and Receiving Clerk and Night Shift Supervisor. John was a dedicated employee who loved his job and greatly respected his peers. He was very conscientious about his work and took pride in being there every day on time and doing the very best job with every task he performed. Even through chemotherapy treatments he continued to work with the same work ethic, and vigor to working just as hard and remained dedicated to his job.

John was a very humble, gentle-man with the sweetest demeanor and the most loving, kind- hearted spirit who always made everyone he came in contact with feel ‘special.’ He was content with life and lived it on his own terms, simple, unassuming, and true to who he was always – never anything less or more. John’s love for God, his family and friends ran deep; he was always willing to help out in any way he could. Even in his sickest times – normally after chemotherapy treatments, John in his loving and caring way was always more concerned about the well-being of others than himself and made time to reach out whether by texting encouraging messages, posting inspiring posts, or heartfelt phone conversations, he was always ready to lift someone else up. This is who he was, a man who honored his commitments to God, family, job, and friends. John was an incredible person who will be sorely missed by all.

John leaves to mourn his passing his mother, Pauline Wynn; daughter, Jacqueline Wynn; brothers, Kenneth and Alan Wynn; sister, Valerie Wynn and sister-in-law, Denise Wynn; God-daughter, Abria Wynn and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, great niece and many friends.

“Job well done, good and faithful servant… You fought the good fight.

Rest in peace, our sweet, John. You will be forever missed and in our hearts”
